8 Dog-Friendly Hiking Trails in Malaysia!

Are you seeking a challenging trail that you and your dog can challenge yourselves to? šŸ’Ŗ Going hiking with your dog ensures quality time, healthy exercise and most importantly, exploring the great outdoors! Surely, hiking with your dogs will be rewarding but you may face challenges finding a dog-friendly trail. šŸ• Well, that's where this article comes in.


In this article, we have listed 7 hiking trails that are dog tolerant and have been visited by fellow dog owners! šŸ˜‰ However, please ensure that your dog is well-behaved, on a leash and friendly to other hikers!


1. Sungai Long Hill

Address: Persiaran SL 7a, 43200 Kajang, Selangor.

There are two pathways, tar road or trail road. It is suggested to have someone lead through the trail road if you are unfamiliar. There is also a green lake and a waterfall hidden along the way.


2. Bukit Serdang

Address: Rizab Melayu Sungai Kuyoh, 43300 Seri Kembangan, Selangor.

There are two trails, one leading towards the sunrise view and another to the view of MEX Highway. At the peak of the sunrise trail, there is a dog temple and a nursery. However, there are fewer visible signboards compared to other hills.


3. Bukit Kembara

Address: Ulu Kelang, 68000 Ampang Jaya, Selangor. There is a lake with a walking path all the way around. You can also find a small waterfall along the way. It is said to be a short but vigorous hike, suitable for kids and beginners. However, beware of leeches there.


4. Ketumbar Hill

Address: Jalan 6/95b, Taman Cheras Utama, 56100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

Along the way, there are wild boars, monkeys and stray dogs so just be alert and aware of your surroundings!


5. Sungai Ara, Bayan Lepas, Penang (hiking trail towards Emperor Villa)

Address: Jl. Kenari, Sungai Ara, 11900 Bayan Lepas, Penang.

It takes 45-60 minutes to reach the restaurant up on the hill and they allow pets too!

6. Shah Alam Community Forest

Address: Setia Eco-park, 40170 Shah Alam, Selangor.

There is a beautiful mirror lake within a 5-minute walk as shown in the images above. Perfect to take IG-worthy photos with your furkid!


7. Sri Bintang Hill

Address: Jalan 11/36, Taman Sri Bintang, 52200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.
